The main question in this essay is how social identity can give people a sense of belonging in their culture. this goes off of the culture and belonging theme of the prompt From cartoons of Muhammad in the Danish paper to displays of the Confederate flag at the South Carolina State House, acts of social importance have started debates and sometimes violence. What is shocking about some of these struggles is their emotional strength, despite the fact in some instances what is at stake is very small. To create a culture of belonging, we have to understand that to belong means we have to be ourselves as well. and inclusive culture is one that first acknowledges and accepts everyone for who they are. it makes everyone involved feel safe to share not only the parts of themselves they think they should, but the parts of themselves that truly make up who they are. Cultural identity brings people belonging to a culture together by highlighting differences. With other people, clothing in terms of cultures the best way to reveal either the historical roots of a person or the roots of the group he belongs to demonstrating a certain cultural community. Its very easy to distinguish European from a Hindu by the style of dressing of an Indian woman or from an oriental Woman by the distinct spot (Bindi) on the forehead of an Indian woman in the veil worn by Muslim women. fashion has taken the best part of the traditional costumes of everyday culture, given the chance two people to show where they came in a respectful way and be proud of where they came from. The concept of belonging is powerful across both cultures and countries Belonging has resonated globally belonging pulls people together and create a sense of community that is essential to every culture its part of our DNA.
